Krasnoyarsk - My native city

I was born in Krasnoyarsk and I like my city very much.
- Would I like to move any other Russian city for example Moscow or Saint Petersburg?
- No, I wouldn't.

Krasnoyarsk is a big industrial Siberian city. It was founded in 1628. Krasnoyarsk is situated on the both banks of the river Yenisei. It divides Krasnyarsk into “Right Bank” and “Left Bank”. The historical part is situated on the right bank. There are a lot of theaters, cinemas, museums, institutes and universities here. The left bank is industrial part of city. There are a lot of factories here. The bridge, which you can see in the pictures, is connected two parts of the city together. This bridge was built in the 18th century and till nowdays it's the main and busiest bridge of the city. There are also three other bridges. One of them is a railway bridge. It was made of metal like Eiffel Tower and it was presented on the exhibition where Eiffel Tower was shown too and won the prize together with this wonderful Tower.

Krasnoyarsk has many parks. Gorkov’s park is one of them. It is beautiful and large. There are lot of theaters too. The theater of Opera and Ballet is famous for it singer Hvarostovskey
There is an island between two banks of the city. It’s a perfect place for sport. In summer people come to play tennis on the outdoors courts. In winter we come here to skate. Here there is the biggest stadium and Sport palace of Ivan Yarigin. Ivan Yarigin was the famous Russian sportsman and won a lot of golden medals
in the international competitions by wrestling. He died in a car accident but people remember him and respect.

Our city is very beautiful, but mountains around it are much more beautiful. Siberian nature is great. It's perfect place for skiing. The most comfortable place for skiing is a place near the village "Bazaiha" which is in severel minutes from Krousnoyarsk.
Krasnoyarsk is famous for its nature reserve "Stolby" (Rock Pillars). Thanks to this place with beautiful rocks, climbing is very popular in our city. On weekend you can see a lot of people in the reserve who climb up and down rocks. Most of them are not sportsmen. They just like to spend here their free time, meet friend, sing songs and play the guitar. We all admire spectacular views of fairy-tale forest, and rocks. This reserve is called Siberian Switzerland. Foreign tourists say that we are lucky to see this beauty every day.

Welcome to my city! I will be glad to see you all!

A little about me

Hello everyone!
My full name is Ludmila Vladimirovna Kovalenko. I was born in Krasnoyarsk on 28th January 1975. I graduated Krasnoyarsk pedagogical State University and can teach both History and English language.
However, since 1997 I've been working only as a teacher of English language at the Krasnoyarsk secondary school № 92. I'm an English language teacher and a form-master. So I organise class parties , work with student's parents and go trips as well as teach language.
In the same time since 2003 I have been a tutor of Krasnoyarsk Distance Inservice prprogramme for English language teachers and in this September I became an associated project coordinator in Russian Kid's Internet Festival http://www.childfest.ru/
I had never thought that I would be a teacher of English. I wished to be an archaeologist or at least a History teacher. I went to the archaeological expeditions and wrote scientific report. At present life I sometimes miss night fires, life in tents, beauty of fields, forests and rivers and even see dreams that I dig and find something very ancient and valuable for science:-)
However I am a teacher of English and I can't tell that I don't like my job:-)
In my free time which I have only on summer holidays I like trevelling. I have been to Egypt and was impressed by the beauty of Red Sea underwater world. This summer I visited some countries and cities of Europe. It was a fantastic trip.
